Easter Greetings

“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” (Revelations 21:23)

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

In our practical societies, the following question occurs before Easter: what does resurrection, the good news promoted by our churches, bring to us? Indeed, we should not let the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ become a simple historic memory, because His glorious victory over death shapes life and history. His resurrection is again awakening and reviving our societies. His resurrection is an “unfailing power supply” for our societies.

God reminded the disciples of Emmaus about His will: the Messiah had to suffer to enter His glory (Luke 24:26). God-s glory needs to be seen and presented as an endless resource of power. We would live a new life, as Christ was raised to life by the glory of God the Father (Romans 6:4).

In the new, heavenly Jerusalem God-s glory prevails, so it does not need the sun or the moon: the Lamb is its light. Isaiah professed about the suffering lamb (Isaiah 53). John the Baptist testified about the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Our Lord got to the right of the Father through terrible suffering and the resurrection, to become the light of His glory. As fragile followers of Christ, we ought to observe His warning: “Be ready and your lamps burning!” (Luke 12:35)

Let us not just remember the act of His resurrection this Easter, let us inspire our societies by spreading the gospel of His glory.

Happy Easter!
